..for many years we have looked for a behavior management program that focused on de -escalation, and had physical interventions that met the philosophy. Our frustration was not around the many great programs regarding de-escalation, but with physical teachings that always took us back to times of very physical restraining techniques that are dangerous for kids and staff. RESPECT is the first program I have seen in my 35 years of this work that successfully bridges that gap. RESPECT’s physical interventions are de-escalating. It is a great program that provides safety, security, calmness and physical interventions that match the philosophy of de-escalation.

I thoroughly enjoyed the RES-PECT training. The class was both fun and highly informative. I learned many new things that clinicians often do not get a chance to study. The instructors were friendly and made me feel right at home. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to be a serious clinician.

RES-PECT is a highly sophisticated, well thought out strategy for
protecting student and teacher in emotionally charged potentially
physical violent circumstances. Not only does RES-PECT lead to fewer
physical encounters, it changes the dynamic between authority figures
and those they supervise or serve. RES-PECT is an exceptional pro-social
process that allows for self-control rather than reactive and violent
interactions.
-Frank Grijalva, Director-Midwestern Trauma Services Network
I found the RES-PECT Training to be a plan of action that promotes safety and a learning experience for the clients. The techniques presented were simple and non evasive. The skills I learned will help me provide clients management and are in line with a professional commitment to “do no harm”. RES-PECT training also allows for an environment where staff safety is paramount.

I have been in education over 25 years and have participated in numerous student intervention programs, but I can say without hesitation that the RESPECT program is by far the best thought out, responsive, safe, and effective program that I have participated in and used in a school setting. The name says it all, it "RESPECTS" both the student and the adult. I highly recommend it.

The RESPECT program is the first program to seriously address restraint elimination with some practical tools. This program will bring dignity into the relationship between children and adults in mental health treatment. The program builds from the basic fundamentals of professionalism and incorporates new techniques that do not require using force against force
